Halifax Plantation Golf Club

Had a good experience the other day for a round, nice course, greens in good shape, nice people. Would have been a 5/5 star review. But, yesterday I showed up at 4:45 to use the chip and putt / driving range, and even before making it to the pro shop the starter shouted at me for even thinking of coming over. Made me really rethink my positive experience from the other day. A simple “hey, we closed all facilities at 4:30, come back tomorrow” would have sufficed. Instead it was “NOPE, NO, NO, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!” Made me feel like a real jerk for thinking of even considering showing up.

If you're looking to plan a wedding with Halifax Plantation Golf Club this is the review for you! My husband and I planned a destination wedding from Wisconsin and Stephanie with the golf club made it so simple. She had amazing reply time throughout the entire year and always had a solution or answer to my problems/questions. She gave me a list of referrals for all kinds of vendors which I used almost all of her referrals for our wedding; the DJ, photographer, videographer, and rehearsal dinner spot all came from Stephanie's referrals. The team at the golf club was even more amazing! We had Barbara and her team the day of our wedding and I swear I couldn't have done it without them. Stephanie went through all of my wedding decor and my vision two days before the wedding and the entire team set up and took down every single thing. My wedding party and I hardly had to lift a finger. And when I tell you everything was PERFECT...I mean it. We had to make a last minute adjustment due to weather and the ceremony was held inside - no biggie, the team took care of everything and it was still beautiful. The bridal party had a beautiful suite to get ready in and we were able to order off the menu for lunch. It was perfect. The space was large with a bathroom so we could all easily have hair and make up done, and change without any issues. We had a beauty squad of 4 plus a bridal party of 8. We fit without any issues. The guys also had a private area so we didn't run into each other at all. Our food was out of this world. I have a dairy allergy and that was easily accommodated. Everyone loved the food and it came out in a timely manner. I was told the next day that the food was a little delayed and truthfully if that was considered a delay, they were spot on in my book! It didn't feel like our guests or the bridal party waited at all! We had an open bar with the option of shots. The bartender was great and the line always moved quickly. We had a wedding with roughly 55 people. The reception space was beautiful, the wood chairs really brought something extra to the space, we had our cocktail hour on the patio which was screened in and perfect for the Florida weather, and the venue had many places for photos. Everything was very cost effective too. I feel like this review isn't giving justice to how amazing the venue, staff, food, and entire experience was. We are forever grateful to the Halifax Planation Golf Club for making our special day so perfect. 10/10!

Halifax Plantation Golf course is located inside the Halifax Plantation subdivision. There is a nice grass driving range and practice area complete with a sand bunker. The service is first rate. The clubhouse is very nice. Course looks yo be in decent shape and the greens are good. Overall, I recommend the Halifax Plantation golf course

Was very impressed with this course and highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable public round. The course was beautiful classic "Old Florida", and was very well maintained. The course is very spread out with no parallel fairways so every hole feels private. The greens were in awesome shape. Not overly crowded and everyone else we ran into was super nice. Plenty of wildlife (deer, turkeys, gators). Staff was great! My only criticism would be the fact that Hole #1 is a dog leg right with houses down the whole right side which is bold for a first hole... But that's only a critic based on my level of play. Overall, very impressed with this course and would highly recommend for anyone in the area.

The staff is great. The course not so much. The tees are not level and the grass on them is sparse. The rough is very thick and wiry so if you hit into it, you pretty much have to step on your ball to find it. The bunkers need sand and raking. The fairways are getting thin. You are sometimes penalized being in the fairway because the ball sits in a bare spot. In other areas the ball tends to plug. The greens were recently redone. They roll well. However, because they are so undulating the cups are often placed on the crest of a hump or on the side of a hill. If you don't get it in the hole your next putt will be a long one. There are nice new carts.

Not sure what was going on with the Tyler dude that ripped this place in his review but this place was immaculate! The tees, fairways, and greens were all excellent. The cart paths weren’t smooth as a babies butt but they weren’t that bad. Evidently, he was not playing well or had this course mixed up with somewhere else. Highly recommend Halifax Plantation. Oh, and the green fee with cart is $58 not $98.
